iCopy 1.47 brings a lot of fixes to exceptions reported by users (see changelog below) and should definitely solve the problem with WIA Automation Layer. Other code optimizations should reduce memory consumption and improve overall performance. As always, if you run into any problem, please report it to the new bug tracker here:

I just downloaded & installed iCopy version 1.47 using the iCopy1.47setup.exe file from http://icopy.sourceforge.net/?page_id=40. The version which has been installed is actually 1.46.21.
As I removed the old version before installing the new one there must be a problem with this .exe file.
I then tried downloading the iCopy1.47.zip file. This does contain version 1.47.

iCopy would be greatly improved if it offered the option of saving the scanned image for future use, as well as printing it.

iCopy can save to file, but it does not offer any option to print existing scanned images.

I have used photocopies software in the past, and this feature was very useful. as often further copies are required in the future.

Dear Dave,
thank you for your comment. You are right, the version included in the setup is the old version. I will fix it as soon as possible. Anyway, you can safely replace it with the .zip version.
Sorry for the inconvenience

Dear Ric,

yes, this can definitely be done, and quite easily too. I didn’t thought about this possibility because I created iCopy to simply print a page on the fly, without all the acquire - edit - print stuff.

Please tell me exactly what do you would like iCopy to do? Save silently the pages that are printed into a specified folder? With which name? Specified by the user? Would you like a subfolder hierarchy (eg mainfolder/year/month)?

Thanks for your hard work.

I am having an issue with the scanner events. Using Task Manger I see iCopy blink on for a second then close. I have tried having it prompt me for which app to run if a scanner button is pressed but it does the same thing and does not complete its launch.

It starts and works fine if you fire it up on its own.

I am using an Epson 1240u and in a fairly fresh installation of XP pro. I should mention that the ThumbsPlus scanner event works fine when it is assigned to a scanner button.

I too vote for a button to print additional copies of the page just scanned. The image is still in the buffer or in a temp directory somewhere so might as well allow more copies of it to be printed without having to rescan. For privacy I would prefer that it delete the image when it closes.

Thanks,
Joe S.
